Quote Of The Day

"I mean has anybody been watching the debates lately?  You've got a governor whose state is on fire denying climate change.  It's true. You've got audiences cheering at the prospect of somebody dying because they don't have healthcare.   And booing a service member in Iraq because they're gay.  That's not reflective of who we are."
- Barack Obama, referring to Texas Governor Rick Perry, at a San Jose fundraiser Sunday night.

New Video Of Boulder, CO, Burning

Below is a time lapse video taken Monday night of fire ripping through the outskirts of Boulder, CO.  It breaks my heart to watch this.  I called Boulder home for two years.  I tell people it's where I "grew up".  Have a lot of wonderful memories of the city and the surrounding area.

The wife and I were considering moving back to Boulder after I graduated from massage therapy school next year.  It will be interesting to see the scope of damage when we visit there in the Fall.

So, Maybe We Won't Be Moving To Boulder

When I graduate from school next year, we're planning on moving somewhere new.  A city that isn't as hot, redneck, or Red as the East Phoenix area.  Some of the cities on the short list include Portland, Boston and the Denver/Boulder, CO, area.

So far this week, wildfires have destroyed over 170 homes on the outskirts of Boulder.  To make things worse, Boulder is expecting 60 mph winds and for the fires to possibly spread within the city to the West side. The West side is home to much of the university and has a number of fraternity and sorority houses in the danger area. Boulder is a beautiful city of close to 100,000 people.  We're keeping our fingers crossed for the sake of those in the city.  Yahoo has a number of pictures of the damage and destruction so far.
