Kacey the Kat arrived at Desert Paws Rescue in extremely poor condition. She was emaciated and there was obviously something drastically wrong. An X-ray revealed that she had suffered a severe pelvic fracture that had healed on its own but was restricting her bowel. Kacey had evidently been hit by a car, went through the healing process alone and somehow managed keep herself alive long enough to end up with Desert Paws Rescue. An expensive surgery to shorten the bowel will allow her to live a normal life. We have only had this cat for a few days, but have already grown to love and admire her strong spirit and will to live.
