Quiz: Count The Body Mods

This is a photo of Joeltron, one of Australia's leading body modification artists.  There practically isn't a piercing or modification that he hasn't personally tried on himself.

Microdermals in his forehead.  Subdermals implanted under his eye.   Stretched labret and septum.  Then, the pièce de résistance:  A stretched ear lobe, going through a cheek piercing, and being held by a forked tongue.

If my memory serves me correctly, Joeltron was the first person in the world to have his eyeball tattooed.  It is still considered an extremely rare and dangerous place to get ink (you can easily go blind), but it looks like it's turned out well.

Photo: Coolest. Weatherman. Ever.

This photo is not altered. It is of Australian Channel 7 weatherman, Jonathan Pollock.  His "non-traditional" appearance is causing a stir in the local community that he serves.  I have comments from, "disgustingly revolting", to "and you lot let him in the door", to even that "he looks scabied (sic) and pustulous".

I love the guy.  It nice to see a weatherman that doesn't look like an 80's era game show host.

Wanna Play The "Guess What Game"?

I'm a fan of body piercings.  But sometimes, people can take them too far.  See if you can guess what this is.

Click on this link at BME to reveal the entire photo.  Don't worry.  Nothing gross.  It's completely safe for work.

I don't get it.

Interesting PSA From Singapore

In 2008, the Singapore government released two public service announcements under their "Breathe" campaign.  The purpose of the campaign was to "encourage youth to choose (breathe in) life, truth and self-expression and not succumb to (breathe out) insecurity, pessimism, pressure and judgement. “Breathe” will also brand health as exciting, vibrant and an asset youth should treasure to help them achieve their fullest potential and ambitions in life."  It appears that Singapore's Health Promotion Board, the agency that aired the commercials, doesn't view tattoos and body piercings as "self-expression".  In fact, they liken it to binge drinking:

Those tattoos are obviously fake.  You would think they could have at least found someone with real tattoos.  Then again, maybe they weren't able to find an actor that was OK with the concept of being someone "that doesn't know when to stop".

Corset Piercings

I have been reading a number of body modification blogs recently, looking for some piercing ideas. I prefer piercings over tattoos primarily because they don't have to be permanent. I had my labret/lip pierced for quite some time. After deciding that it didn't suit me anymore, I was able to just take it out and let the hole close up. No scarring, and no regrets.

I've been looking at a lot of pictures, and I must say, there is nothing sexier than a set of corset piercings. They're distinctly feminine, and, in my honest opinion, hot as all hell. Don't you agree?
